Frequently asked questions
How is the sale price calculated?
Price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). A 25% discount on 1,500 is 1,500 × 0.75 = 1,125.
Is 20% plus 10% the same as 30%?
No. The second discount applies to the already reduced price: 1 − 0.80 × 0.90 = 28%.
How do I find the discount percentage?
(old − new) ÷ old × 100. The Percentage Calculator’s change tab does this for you.
Is the discount applied before or after VAT?
Usually on the VAT-inclusive tag price. To separate VAT, use the VAT Calculator.
